What can you expect?

I will support and guide you in bringing awareness to the body as a vessel of physical, mind, emotional and spiritual connection; ultimately holding the space for you to unveil and ground in your personal power.

My bodywork practice is rooted in Holistic Massage (which is a full-body, oil based massage), and adapted to be consent-led and trauma-informed, weaving in my experience of somatics.

Because of this, the treatment can look very different from a person to the next, from session to session, as well as from a moment to another - it is all centered around your present experience. Throughout the treatment, you will be encouraged to communicate your needs through prompts and self-inquiry.

Methods I use are holistic massage, breathwork, embodied self-inquiry, movement, vocalisations, body scans, body holds, meditation and more.

These can be done in a variety of settings depending on your accessibility (in person, sitting, lying down, online, on the phone) and comfort needs (clothed, unclothed, no touch, body holds).

The treatment will be centred around your current needs, as well as you health and wellbeing profile - which we will plan out together during our initial consultation, should you decide to work with me.

This practice can support nervous system regulation and thus could be beneficial if you experience chronic pain, stress, anxiety and/or depressive symptoms. It can aid relaxation,  lower inflammation and tension. It is also a gentle way to welcome care and awareness to dormant areas of the body, or parts of the body that you feel disconnected to.

*DISCLAIMER

*

I currently do not take any cishet-male clients in my treatment room, unless via trusted recommendation only!

I am not a formally trained somatic coach, though I have extensive experiential training.

Everything I learn and teach comes from a plethora of smaller courses and workshops, from a variety of modalities, supportive therapists, teachers and coaches, as well as my lived experience and daily practice; I am continuously dedicated to learning, reflecting and adjusting my practice to suit my clients’ needs.

Even so, if you are someone who feels safer around more established certificates and qualifications, this might not be what you are looking for - in which case, please seek different support.

For further information about me, or to see my credentials, please access ‘About me’ page.

Are those treatments accessible and appropriate for me?

Terminology

‘Bodywork’ is a term which describes therapies that centre the body as a path towards health and wellbeing.

‘Somatics’ is a practice under the umbrella of bodywork, which focuses on the dialogue between the mind and the body - or the ‘internal physical perception and experience’.

In simpler terms, somatic techniques focus on creating a better connection between the body (i.e. what it speaks) and the mind (i.e. what it hears) - in order to release stress, build emotional capacity, resilience and more.
